Mike thinks that the reason why he can't find a higher paying job is because he lacks the educational background that his target post requires. Education is very important. We all know that. But sometimes, we need more of it to be able to start climbing the success ladder.

Enter Walden University. It is an online degree university. One that Mike, a working adult, needs. He can't very well quit his current job but his desire to get a higher degree is enough for him to seek higher education. He will get it online through WaldenU.edu once he is properly enrolled.

I think it was The Chronicle where he read about higher education and such. He knows getting higher education can bring him more success than what he was able to attain now. Hopefully, he'll be able to find a higher paying job and a more worthy post for him once he graduates.

Parades are a great reason to watch television on Thanksgiving!

I greatly enjoy all of the festivities and holidays that are found throughout the year. I especially love Thanksgiving due to the fact that most everybody in my family turns up at either one parent's house or the other. I don't necessarily always go for the food during Thanksgiving, but the time to spend with my family is the best reason to go. Due to the fact that my parents are divorced I actually get two different Thanksgivings! This means I get to spend more one on one time with both parents, as opposed t5o spending a great deal of time with both of them together.

My fiancé and I usually go with my sister to the houses of my family, bringing gifts and foods such as cranberry sauce. I greatly enjoy helping people cook on this special day and will often find myself trying to take over preparations. I help at a local shelter where I live so I always make sure to help the Monday before Thanksgiving to help those have one who wouldn't otherwise be able too.

I also enjoy the fact that after Thanksgiving Dinner I can sit down and watch the festivities and parades on my satellite television that I got after seeing this Satellite TV comparison. There are always many lovely things going on in the country, and Alaska isn't really a place to have a parade. However, there are always great shows that feature them.

After our dinner and once everything's cleaned up, we sit around together and make plans for our Black Friday shopping. About a week ago, my sisters and I helped our dad to check out men’s shoes. We will be attending a family gathering by next month, just before Christmas. My dad's pairs of shoes are all worn out already. He doesn't really buy one unless he needs to. Now, he needs it already.

I met Joe one day while I was out bowling alone. I was relieved to have someone decent to talk to and to keep the creepy guys away. I never expected that five years later we would be best friends.

Joe's a really great guy, sweet and charming, always there to lend a hand when I need one. He keeps my head on straight, and I really think I have become a better person because of him. The other day I was on the phone with him while I was leaving my house. He had to remind me to set my home Security systems; I don't know what I would do without him.

Apart from late night bowling we do a lot together. Last weekend we went out rock climbing in the foothills, that was a hoot. I don't think I have ever fallen down so much in my life. Afterwards, we went out for Chinese food; Joe even speaks a bit of Mandarin, or at least thinks he does. It's hilarious to watch him go on with the wait staff trying to order with his horrible accent.

On Sundays we get together and watch the game. Joe's not into football all that much, but he watches because he knows I like it.

NOAH by Casey Bennett Is a Wonderful Book

I love to read as often as I can. I find that reading is a great way to let my mind just wander over the pages as I enjoy a good book by a good author. When I am not reading, I also enjoy relaxing and watching DirectTV DVR specials. Lately, I have read the novel NOAH by budding author Casey Bennett. An intriguing novel, NOAH made me both laugh and cry and root for the main character.

NOAH chronicles the life of Annie, a young girl who lost her mother in a tragic accident. As she grows up in first an orphanage and later with a loving family who adopted her, Annie struggles with the burden of losing her mother and abuse issues that happened at the orphanage. Noah enters the scene when Annie is a grown woman with a daughter of her own. This guardian angel tries to help the young, destitute woman turn her life around.

Both humorous and tragic, the novel NOAH by Casey Bennett is by far one of my favorite books. I found myself in tears at the end as the anticipated climax finally was revealed. This book really made me realize that the people who are the hardest to love are the ones who need love the most.

Right now I'm training for a body building competition, so Thanksgiving is going to be really hard for me. Now, I'm on some crazy diet so that you can see all of my muscle mass and there's barely any fat on it. I've always concetrated on staying in good shape, but I really do love eating some great food. I'm going off my strict diet for Thanksgiving day, but my wife is being an angel and cooking some stuff that's tasty but healthier alternatives.

The talk of the preseason has not been so much who is here, but who isn't. Namely, the gaping, crater sized hole left in the key in Portland. That's correct, I am referring to the absence of number 1 overall pick Greg Oden, for the umpteenth time, and by umpteenth I am referring to a number with over seven digits and six zeroes. Zero, of course, is the perfect descriptive noun to use for Greg Oden, as he has rarely ever seen the court. Truly he is a bust of the Dolly Parton variety, and it only makes the pain for Blazers fans worse as Kevin Durant continues to put up Jordan-esque numbers.

It is an interesting comparison, to compare Durant to Jordan, not because there games are similar, but rather because Jordan was also passed up by the Blazers. The rest, as they say, is excruciatingly agonizing history, a history filled with pain and war, and now even in the antebellum period we are not given a reprieve from the day Sam Bowie was drafted. When I watch this team in the preseason, I can only wonder at what might have been, yet I continue to watch as I must be some kind of masochist. I watched the Portland Trailblazers blaze new trails of futility on my satellite TV that I got after looking at this cable tv comparison , and will watch NBA League Pass on the same.

I have four credit cards and just this morning I received another credit card from an international credit card company. Yes To NCIS

I love the show NCIS. It's my favorite crime show on television. Every week I watch the show on my direct tv with the expectations of being entertained and informed. It never fails. The cases are interesting and informative. The writing is top notch and believable and outside of a few cases I am always on the edge waiting for answers.

Special agent Gibbs is my favorite character and the main reason I am tuning in. He's always finding a way through each obstacle and is the guy on the show that I would most want to be like. In other words, he's awesome.

The relationships between the characters is what sets this show apart in my opinion. They have great chemistry and a few of the characters remind me of myself or someone I know. Which I guess is the goal of most television shows except that most of them fail in their attempts. It's a way for me to experience a job more interesting than pushing keys on a keyboard all day.

It's a funny, unique and really cool show and what I look forward to most on Tuesdays.

Winter Library Visit

My kids get quite antsy during winter months when the cold weather keeps them indoors. When I can't take another minute of their running around and tearing up the house, I bundle them up in their winter scarves, caps and thick coats. I set the home security alarm (Ohio alarm Systems systems) and we all jump in the car.

There is always something going on for kids at our local Deschutes County Library. Heather, my little girl, loves the Toddlin' Tales Story Time and Preschool Parade Story Time. They sing songs, listen to stories and rhymes. My two older ones love to pick out books about their current interests, which are motorcycles for Josh and jewelry beading for Meg at the moment. Once they have selected their books, they are happy to sit at a table or spread out, on the floor, in the corner and read. This keeps them from pestering me to get going while Heather is still in story time.

Last time we were at the library I saw a class advertised for social security retirement. I told my dad about it and he registered. It's coming up in a few days. I think it will be really helpful to him as he's been thinking about retirement. The library is always offering helpful community classes. Most of the time they are completely free.

A couple of years ago when I was taking an English college class, the teacher asked us on the first day to make a list of our all-time favorite books. Now, I was really tempted to put down Lord of teh Flies or 1984 or some other book that's supposed to be a great work or literature. But I was just honest and wrote down the Sweet Valley High book series. Well, the teacher took up our lists and drew attention to mine. I thought he was going to make fun of me but then he admitted that his favorite books were the Hardy Boys series so I shouldn't be that ashamed.

Shopping for furniture

There's something very calming about going furniture shopping. Most people I know don't like it, but I find it very comforting. The designer in me loves creating imaginary rooms with all of the different furniture styles and fabrics to create the perfect living room sentiment. I love leather, suede, and anything made by La-Z-Boy. Sometimes, if I find myself out shopping without my husband, I'll sneak into one of those big furniture warehouses, find a nice plus recliner, and just rest for a while. Most of the time, store employees won't even mind! To be fair, I do buy a lot of it. Every time I'm feeling unhappy or stressed, I love to redecorate rooms. My husband is used to coming home and finding completely different furniture and whole rooms re-arranged. He never minds though, especially when I buy him a new leather chair to relax in when he gets home from work. There's nothing like unloading a brand new La-Z-Boy recliner from the delivery truck—or a pair of it for us to share! Setting it all up in the center of living room, and watching a few hours of direct tv hd dvr. It's one of our favorite pastimes!

Going Camping

My family and I took our last camping trip of the year this past week. October is the perfect time of year for this excursion: the campground is all but deserted, the leaves are turning many beautiful colors, and the weather is warm during the day, cool and crisp at night. My husband and I packed up our three sons and their school work (we home school), said goodbye to our neighbors, and fed the fish. We set our Adt home security alarm and then went camping.

Rend Lake in Sesser, Illinois, is our favorite camping spot. It’s a bit of a drive from our home near St. Louis, but it’s so worth it. We like to find a camper pad near both woods and lake, so that we can enjoy the trees and the water at the same time. The boys explore foxholes, find turtles, and this year, we had added excitement when skunks came to check out our campsite!

We were sad to have to come back home, but we’ll be back in the spring when the snow and ice start to melt. Some people may like camping during the height of the season, but for us, the off-season is the best time to go. We love the peace and quiet of having the campground almost to ourselves … well, except for the animals.
