Quick Release Tripod

I am thinking about buying a new camcorder but I want to know if my current tripod wil work with it. Is there any difference types of tripods? The one I have has two flat screws poking up that screw into the bottom of the camera. Does anyone knows all about tripods. Could tell me if it has the screw in holes.

My family likes to travel a lot and I also love photography. It is good to know that I am using camera tripods so that I can take pictures together with my family. In order for me to be in the picture, I just only set the camera timer then viola, I am on the picture.
