In the States, heated mattress pads are part of the necessities of life. The people living there would not survive the cold weather brought about by winter season. They have to have mattress pads to heat their bodies up or else they will freeze. It’s even funny to hear that a good friend of mine said that in three months time she was able to bath herself only once because she could not tolerate the cool weather.
