Global Positioning System (GPS) is a space-based radio-navigation system, consisting of satellites and ground support. It was initially used as a navigational aid by military ground, sea, and air forces. But in more recent years, it has been used by civilians in many new ways, such as in automobile and boat navigation and emergency rescue.
For the many different ways and situations in which GPS is used, GPS receivers take on many forms. There’s the GPS watch and cell phones. Among many others, also available are GPS touch screen with pre-loaded maps and In-Car Navigation System with US Mapping +MP3 player.
