Peñalosa Eyes Repeat Vs. Thai

THEY FIRST FOUGHT EIGHT years ago with Gerry Peñalosa getting the better of Thai Sor Vorapin.

They will meet again on Sunday, with Peñalosa out to keep his World Boxing Organization bantamweight crown and show that his sith-round stoppage of Vorapin in 2000 was no fluke.

“I’m focused on Vorapin,” said Peñalosa. “I won’t give him a chance (to exact revenge).”

The 35-year old Peñalosa of San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, is making the first defense of the title he won over Jhonny Gonzales in Sacramento , California , last year as part of the RP-Mexico World Cup of Boxing.
