Maglalatik is a mock-war dance which illustrates the fight between the Moros and the Christians over the prized ‘latik” or coconut meat. It was performed in Binan, Laguna, Philippines. Two parts of the dance show the battle between them and the last two parts show their reconciliation. Dancers of this dance are all male. The moro dancers usually wear red trousers while the Christians wear blue. They all have coconut shells attached to their chests, backs, thighs and hips. Have you seen this dance? I know you’ll enjoy it.
