During school year, my nieces and nephew write down on the weekly grocery list what they’d like for lunch that week, and each night they prepare it themselves. If they forget to make lunch, the money they need to buy it comes out of their allowance. Now, mornings are less hectic at my sister’s house—and she’s sure fewer school lunches are tossed.
