Protection for the hands

I was helping out my mom with trimming the tree at the side of our house. I was using the ladder because I was trimming the higher branches. My mom was trimming the lower ones. Good thing we were both wearing work gloves. I accidentally slipped down the ladder and used my hands to hold on but I continued slipping down.
