I think living in a small town has so many perks. There’s something to be said for knowing your neighbors, carrying on conversations with the bag boy at the supermarket and knowing exactly which bakeries to go to to get a special frequent-shopper discount.
As a retirement present to herself and her husband, my sister recently moved to Atlanta for its big-city feel. I’m not sure I could do that. I enjoy the little things way too much! In fact, the other day I heard a car door slam outside of my house. I knew it was the mailman (I recognize the slam of his car door by now, he’s been on our route for nearly 10 years!) so I ran outside to greet him at the door.
Good thing I did, too, because he had his arms full of tons of boxes—all souvenir presents from my sister, showing me just how great of a time she and her husband were having thrifting over in Georgia. He was impressed that I heard him—and to be honest, I was too! I credit my new hearing aids, which I’d ordered from www.MiracleEarHearingAids.net a few months prior. I’ll never tell him my secret, though!
