Going to a Wedding
Thanks for the guest post by Rafael Barnes
Weddings are generally intended to be happy occasions, so when I was recently invited to a friends wedding, I naturally accepted. One of the problems with attending a wedding is the decision to purchase a gift. Depending on your relationship with either the bride or the groom, this can be an issue, especially if you don't know the proper etiquette. Most wedding party's establish a store or two where they register (a list) so that you can choose a gift that the married couple would appreciate, it also avoids doubling up of gifts for the lucky couple.
Once the gift has been chosen and the big day has arrived, there is the issue of what to wear and of course that is based on the theme of the party. Because I was not in the wedding party myself, (I was just a guest) a regular suit would suffice, so after putting on the appropriate attire and setting my home security alarm (ADT Home security packages), it was off to the wedding for me.
I must say that I never get tired of seeing all the different variations of bride's dresses that a designer can come up with. As it came closer to being my turn to congratulate the newlyweds, I could not help but be envious for the two of them and the journey that they were about to embark upon. I only hope they liked my gift.
