Cancer Awareness Ribbons

I was strolling at the park having some brisk walk when I saw a teenager giving out breast cancer awareness ribbons. It is the recent advocacy of the women around our village. They are encouraging women to stay fit and healthy to avoid such dreadful disease. Several women around the village with an average age of forty had died already because of breast cancer. That is the very reason why a non-government organization, together with a private corporation started circulating this advocacy.

It is very painful to see a loved one get weak and die because of cancer. I witnessed that myself when my best friend’s mom suffered breast cancer and eventually died. It was a very painful for her family. Although they tried to be strong and appear unaffected for her mother’s condition, my best friend couldn’t just help but to cry on me whenever things becomes so overwhelming for her.

Because of that, I thought to myself that I should be one with those advocators. I am a woman and I should support the things that other women are fighting for. Next week, those women are conducting breast cancer awareness programs and I have already committed myself to them. I said I would be joining their program and I will help them with their advocacy.
