Take a Hike!

What a beautiful weekend we had here in Georgia! I think this is the coolest Labor Day weather we have had in several decades. So when we woke up and it was in the mid 70s in September, we took full advantage and decided to go on a hike on Saturday morning. After a summer full of 90 plus degree weather, we were delighted to have a cooler and breezy weekend. We packed some snacks, grabbed the camera, turned on the Security Choice ADT security alarm, and we headed out.

We had heard about a hike to Panther Creek Falls in the North Georgia Mountains, so we decided to check it out. It was about a 30 minute ride from home, so we rolled down the sunroof and windows and headed north. When we got to the trail head, we saw lots of other cars so we knew that it would be a busy day on the trail. We were accurate there. The trail was packed with families, dogs, couples, and lots of traffic... We didn't mind, though. We reached the falls in about an hour or so, and spend a couple of hours there, swimming and eating.

It was really a fabulous day. I hope that this cooler weather is here to stay because I could get used to this hiking on beautiful Saturdays thing!
