It seems like if I want my kids to help me at all around the hosue or even do their chores that I have to come up with some creative way to pretend like it's for a game. But, I kind of have more fun that way anyway, so it's worth the extra work for creativity's sake on my part.
I actually get a lot of my ideas for the games from watching TV shows and movies with our clear tv bundle. Last weekend I was getting the kids to help me rake leaves and I knew that I would have to come up with some type of game to get them to do it in a decent amount of time. So I came up with teh idea of telling them that they better hurry up and get up all the leaves or Frankenstein would come and getthem because he loves leaves. Well, they just ate that up and really did do a fast job of getting them together and in the bags.
It was pretty funny and they do know that it's make believe so it's not scaring them. You gotta do what you gotta do.
