The Bright Lights

The Bright Lights

Thanks to Darwin Barton

This year, the boys were very excited to see the lights around town. I knew there was one special neighborhood where almost every single house made it an experience to decorate their entire house and yard, so I wanted to drive through that neighborhood and give them a bright light experience. I packed up some hot chocolate, a few candy canes, set the home alarm from http://www.Home-alarm-systems.com/ before we left and got started on the drive.

The moment that we got on the road the boys saw a few houses here and there and wanted me to stop and look but since I knew just what they were about to see, I let the excitement build up before the real fun begun. Once we were coming up to the neighborhood, I told the boys to press their faces to the windows of the car. We entered the neighborhood and their faces lit up at the first house. There were lights and snowmen and santa clauses galore. They were so excited that I had to drive very slow so they could check out each and every house through out the entire neighborhood. I have never seen them more excited and I cant wait to take them again next year.

Happy Birthday on Christmas?

Happy Birthday on Christmas?

Thanks to Darwin Barton

"Happy Birthday!" exclaims the white mound of snow with a corncob pipe and a button nose. Yes, that is how Frosty the Snowman greets his friends when he comes to life through a magical hat. This lovable character is the reason why so many of us still watch this Christmas special when it airs in the middle of December.

I will sit with my nieces and nephews to watch this favorite animated Christmas special on my Cable tv specials. I watch how they are enraptured in the show bouncing up and down the Christmas. I find it amazing that even after four decades of being on the air, this show is still so accessible to newer and younger generations of children.

Frosty is a favorite Christmas special of mine because it expresses the true meaning of friendships and also the repercussions of what selfish acts can do. The hat that brings Frosty to life is from a magician who only things of one thing, himself. When he realizes that his selfish behavior not only jeopardizes the life of Frosty, it also jeopardizes his own future with people. I love how it teaches children that sharing is not only a caring gesture, it is also a gesture that can bring about so many positives.

Frosty the Snowman is a classic that teaches children and adults about the act of being selfless. Giving is not about getting. Giving is about care, love, and deep relationships that last for years to come.

lighting

My husband is planning to change the lighting in our entertainment room. He’s complaining that it’s too bright when the lights should be soft like those in the movie house. He is showing me pictures of what he wants to achieve. I agree with him and like the ones in the picture. He is planning to buy those after next week.

briggs parts

Yong will be travelling with his family before the year ends. His dad wants to make sure that their car is in good condition and he even bought briggs parts engine oil and pre cleaner. The family is excited with the trip because this will be their first road trip as family together. Yong had helped his dad to check on the condition of their car and he’s happy he did that because they bonded well together.

First family Christmas

Guest post written by Elaine Beck

Well, this is my first year as a married woman and it's been a pretty good one. But I'm a little nervous right now because we're having my in-laws over for Christmas lunch and I've never really entertained that many people over an actual meal in our house. We've had friends over a few times for drinks, but that's different from his parents. So I'm a little worried right now.

I have all the food that I'm going to fix figured out and have already started a thorough cleaning of our house. But I wanted to find some kind of potpourri that I could make so that the house would smell nice when they come for lunch. When I was looking up that stuff, I came across some information about wireless internet systems and after I read through it some, I switched over our home internet service to it.

I found a recipe to make some Christmas potpourri and I think that I'm going to use that then. My mother-in-law is really crafty and creative and I think that she'll be impressed that I made my own potpourri for the occasion.

Holiday Family Tradition of A Christmas Story

Holiday Family Tradition of A Christmas Story

I appreciate the guest post, Ignacio Phillips

The holiday season is here again, and with Christmas coming right around the corner, my family and I, wait in anticipation for all of our favorite Christmas movies to air on Satellite TV. Sitting on the couch with my family by my side, we flick on the new High Definition television, and prepare to watch our favorite non-animated Christmas special, "A Christmas Story."

You know the one, where the kid wants the Red Rider BB-gun, but his mother tells him that he's going to shoot his eye out, and he does! That's only one of the reasons I love that movie so much. Another reason I love the movie,"A Christmas Story," is because it reminds my family and I, that we aren't the only family in the world that goes through problems during the holidays and nobody's Christmas goes according to plans.

Usually we can catch "A Christmas Story," right after Thanksgiving, and can find it airing on a lot of different networks, but it was a busy Turkey Day this year, and being worn out; we decided to wait until it came on television again.

If you're searching the dish for a great Christmas movie to watch this holiday season, and are tired of the cartoon and claymation specials, check your local listings for "A Christmas Story," and enjoy a wonderful, family Christmas special with your family. Maybe it will be the start of a long-lived, family tradition!

Finally ready for the holidays

Guest post written by Virginia Wallis

Now I feel like I can finally relax a little bit and enjoy all of this family Christmas programming that's on TV 24/7. See, ever since Thanksgiving I'll been spending all my spare time either cooking, Christmas shopping, decorating or something else that's related in Christmas in some way or another. Well, all the decorations are up now and my gifts shipped so and I finished wrapping up all that stuff.

I don't really have a whole lot to worry about until we start going to all of the Christmas parties lined up on our calendar. I was looking up some recipes a couple of nights ago to get some ideas for what to take to some of those parties when I came across the site www.WIRELESSINTERNET.NET. After I read through it a little bit, I signed up for one of the internet packages on it.

When I was doing that I actually found some more holiday decorations ideas that I thought were so cute. But I'm not about to put any more up.

Bundled Up for Christmas Tree Shopping

Bundled Up for Christmas Tree Shopping

This guest post from Lewis Beck

Christmas is my favorite time of the year! I always look forward to picking out the best gifts for my friends and baking holiday treats with my family. Shopping for a Christmas tree, however, is my all time favorite family tradition.

My kids and I are heading out right now to find the perfect tree. We got bundled in our warmest clothes. I also packed a few tasty snacks and took travel mugs of hot chocolate for our tree hunt. After making sure our home security alarm from allhomesecurity was set, we jumped into the car and drove off to the farm.

The Christmas tree farm that we go to always has the freshest trees. Since the ceilings in our house are very high, we want to find a tree that is at least ten feet tall. I think that we want to get a skinny tree, and we are also going to have it flocked. It will take us a few hours to find the perfect tree for our home.

The fun really begins once the tree is set up in our house. We have tons of ornaments and garland to decorate every inch of the tree. I cannot wait to find the perfect Christmas tree on our shopping adventure this year. I am already humming "O Christmas Tree" over and over again in my head.

Playing with video game LEGOS

Guest post written by Lily Bronson

One of the things that takes up most of my weekends is playing LEGOS with my two sons. They have quite the imaginations and are constantly making up all kinds of stories to go with all the things that they've built. The stories are kind of hard to follow along with for me, but they both seem to understand them and they get along while playing with them. I think that most boys their ages actually have a hard time getting along, so I let them play with LEGOS as much as they can.

I've been researching things to get them for Christmas online with our CLEAR-INTERNET and when I was doing that I found a really great idea of what to get both of them. They love LEGOS, Harry Potter and video games, so I thought that the answer was obvious.

I went ahead and ordered the LEGO Harry Potter game for them to play and I think that they're really going to enjoy it. I think it will also be good for them because it's supposed to cover Harry Potter before it gets too dark like the current movie. I think that's a little mature for them right now.

I went to New York last week together with my brother and his family. While we were looking at the hotels on 5th ave we meet a Filipino friend who has been staying in the United States for almost 10 years already. Our office Christmas Party is already set on December 22, 2010. The programme is ready. There were parlor games and door prizes that awaits us. Our prescribed dress code is casual attire. My officemates and I are planning to go to SM City this weekend to look for casual dresses to wear for the party. It’s very timely because they will be having a 3-day sale.

Zeal Goggles

And now he is very active in participating in every competition of motor cross in our hometown. Maybe I should by him Zeal Goggles for eye protection.

Mesothelioma lawyer

I am glad to hear that there is what they call Mesothelioma lawyer. At least they will be focus more on health cases like this. It is very alarming especially if we inhale products made out of asbestos. I heard that people having mesothelioma are due to work or occupational exposure. Individuals who are exposed to these products should be appropriately protected.

According to her, she has undergone liposuction last year and it also doesn’t show any improvement. I have asked her if she had followed up with his doctor but she said “no”. Anyway, she has to check on the effectively of lipofuse if it will work for her.

Going to a Wedding

Going to a Wedding

Thanks for the guest post by Rafael Barnes

Weddings are generally intended to be happy occasions, so when I was recently invited to a friends wedding, I naturally accepted. One of the problems with attending a wedding is the decision to purchase a gift. Depending on your relationship with either the bride or the groom, this can be an issue, especially if you don't know the proper etiquette. Most wedding party's establish a store or two where they register (a list) so that you can choose a gift that the married couple would appreciate, it also avoids doubling up of gifts for the lucky couple.

Once the gift has been chosen and the big day has arrived, there is the issue of what to wear and of course that is based on the theme of the party. Because I was not in the wedding party myself, (I was just a guest) a regular suit would suffice, so after putting on the appropriate attire and setting my home security alarm (ADT Home security packages), it was off to the wedding for me.

I must say that I never get tired of seeing all the different variations of bride's dresses that a designer can come up with. As it came closer to being my turn to congratulate the newlyweds, I could not help but be envious for the two of them and the journey that they were about to embark upon. I only hope they liked my gift.

George Reeves: A super actor

George Reeves: A super actor

This guest post from Margaret Mills

My favorite television actor is a man who had a huge impact on me as child. Back in my day, when a black and white television was the norm, George Reeves played Superman. I would rush home after school every Wednesday, peddling my bicycle like a madman to make sure I was plopped down and in front of our television at 3:30. As the familiar theme song started, I would bounce with anticipation, preparing to go flying with my hero.

George had a duel role in Superman, also portraying ace reporter Clark Kent. His Clark was hardly the bumbling fool that Christopher Reeve would portray twenty years later. This Clark Kent was a man of action, who hid his super identity behind a pair of thin glasses. As a child, there was something else about Reeves portrayal of Superman. He had the ability to radiate a warmth and kindness that flooded our small television. When I watched Superman, I would smile and laugh and worry, and at the end of the program feel like he was my friend.

A number of years ago I was able to watch George Reeves as Superman on Directv. Even after all these years, I could still feel the magic. For that, and for all the wonderful memories he gave me, he will always be my favorite television actor.

cigars

I have seen teenagers who smoked cigars while drinking liquors and alcohol in the city bandstand in divisoria. I am not happy with what I saw. I felt pity with those guys. They are still students and they should spend their time at school and not in those hang outs. I could see how the parents had worked hard just to send their children to school. Unfortunately, these students are very ungrateful to their parents.

V For Vendetta Provides Action and Suspense

V For Vendetta Provides Action and Suspense

Guest post written by Derick Burks

V For Vendetta has got to be one of my all-time favorite action movies. Though some people consider it more of a thriller or a psychological drama, as far as I'm concerned, you really can't beat the dramatic action that's in many of the fighting scenes.

I'm always excited when I get to watch it on satellite television from http://www.tvbydirect.com/ like I did this past weekend. It's one of those films that I can watch over and over without ever getting tired of it. I believe a great film is characterized by incorporating elements of several genres, and V For Vendetta truly has a lot going on. There's action, drama, suspense, romance, and even a bit of comedy mixed in here and there. Natalie Portman does such a good job in the film -- the scene where she's reading the letter from the other inmate makes me cry every single time.

The plot is beautifully poetic and the scenery is rich all throughout the movie. It's such a well-crafted story. Every person that I've ever made watch the film with me has become absolutely enthralled with it. Several of my friends and I even watch it every year on November 5th! If you haven't seen V For Vendetta yet, I would highly recommend checking it out right away, whether you're in the mood for action or suspense.
